Wastes Act.

The Act sets forth the legislative framework on waste disposal and aims at ensuring the protection of public health and the environment against damages and hazards arising out of waste and waste management. The Act lays down provisions concerning waste prevention and sets out duties and obligations of persons and legal entities involved in activities relating to waste management and waste disposal. Further provisions deal with recycling, keeping records on waste, waste management plans, international trade in waste, functions of administrative authorities and public services, and penalties.
