Abstract
The Act provides for collection of reports from companies in the petroleum industry by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) for the purpose of compliance with the Energy Security Act 1974 and other EU Regulations on international energy program, information systems and emergency measures in the mineral oil sector and for the fulfilment of energy policy tasks in the field of mineral oil and to ensure a sufficient supply of oil and petroleum products at competitive prices. Anyone who who works commercially or in the context of economic enterprises and promotes, imports or exports oil within the scope of this law, is subject to reporting. The reporting shall cover type and quality of oil production, import and export of crude oil and petroleum products, sale of crude oil, use of petroleum, the production of petroleum products and other factors mentioned in Article 3 of the Act. The individual information collected by the reporting agents must be kept confidential. This Act consists of 9 Articles and Articles 7 & 8 are deleted.

This Act comes into force on 24 December 1988.
