Abstract
The Act regulates the measures to combat animal diseases and the compensation of livestock owners in the event of disease outbreaks in Brandenburg. It defines the responsibilities of the authorities, in particular the role of the official veterinarian in the investigation of disease conditions, the identification of livestock and the estimation of compensation. The Animal Disease Fund is responsible for determining compensation. The Act also regulates the assumption of costs in connection with animal disease control. In addition, the Act lays down administrative regulations that are necessary for its implementation. The Act consists of 26 Articles divided into 5 Chapters.
