Berlin Recycling Waste Management Law (KrW-/AbfG Bln).

The provisions of the present Law apply to: 1) the avoidance, 2) recycling, and 3) disposal of waste. In particular, aims of the Law are the: 1) avoidance of waste and the reduction of harmful substances in waste; 2) safe use of unavoidable waste as far as this is technically and financially possible; 3) treatment of unusable waste in order to reduce its volume and noxiousness as well as its elimination in an environment-friendly manner and stocking it possibly near the place of origin; and 4) the care and promotion of natural resources. The text consists of 31 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: Introductory provisions (I); Organization of waste disposal (II); Waste disposal planning (III); Waste disposal plants (IV); Monitoring and right of passage (V); Duties of authorities, balance sheet (VI); Data protection and publication of information, implementing provisions (VII); Penalties (VIII); Transitional and final provisions (IX).
