Climate Protection Program 2026.

The Climate Protection Program 2026 (Klimaschutzprogramm 2026) is a cabinet-adopted strategic policy plan required under §9 of the Federal Climate Protection Act, setting out Germany’s cross-sectoral framework to meet legally binding emission ceilings and international commitments, including the Paris Agreement and EU climate instruments. It is based on updated emissions projections (Projective Data 2025) and identifies gaps in achieving sectoral targets, framing a package of measures across energy, buildings, industry, transport, agriculture, LULUCF (Land Use, Land‑Use Change and Forestry) and waste to ensure compliance with national and EU obligations.
