Abstract
An Ordinance to regulate the trade of animals. It contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed. Then it treats issues such as certification, registration, book-keeping, requirements for transport. Part 2 deals with trade of animals within the EU. General import and transit regulations are contained respectively in Part 3 and 4. Finally, the Ordinance establishes penalties in case of violation. The text consists of 44 articles divided into 7 Parts and 13 Annexes.
