Abstract
The purpose of the present Ordinance is to implement the Council Regulation (EC) No. 1098/2007 on the recovery of the stock of European eel of 18 September 2007. Moreover, the Land Schleswig-Holstein shall ensure that all necessary steps are taken to: 1) protect the existing eel stock, and 2) conserve and improve the possibility of its sustainable use. The text consists of 10 articles as follows: Purpose and sphere of application (1); Registration of persons (2); Registration of fishing vessels (3); Obligation to register fishing and marketing of eel (4); Obligation to register in case of first marketing (5); Limitation of eel fishing in coastal waters (6); Temporal and local limitation of eel fishing (7); Annex (8); Penalties (9); Entry into force (10). One Annex concerning article 6 is enclosed.
