Abstract
The present Act introduces the Directive 2002/95/EC concerning the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment into German national legislation. In particular, article 5 establishes that new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market shall not contain lead, mercury, cadmium,and other hazardous substances. The text consists of 25 articles divided into 6 Parts. Four Annexes are enclosed.
