Abstract
The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the transfer, taking back and environmental-friendly disposal of end-of-life vehicles including their components and materials regardless of how the vehicle is maintained during its use or has been repaired. Article 2 establishes that car producers have to take back all end-of-life vehicles of their making from the last holder. The text consists of 12 articles as follows: Sphere of application (1); Definition of terms (2); Taking-back obligation (3); Transfer obligations (4); Disposal obligations (5); Experts (6); Duty to notify (7); Waste prevention (8); Labelling standards and dismantling information (9); Duty to inform (10); Administrative offences (11); Transitional provisions (12). One Annex is enclosed regarding requirements for the acceptance and return of end-of-life vehicles, the proper and damage-free recycling of old vehicles and body shells as well as the proper safe disposal of the resulting waste.
