Abstract
The purpose of the present Ordinance is to implement the Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the provision of food information to consumers. The Ordinance lays down general principles governing the right of consumers to information, with particular regard to food labelling. These provisions apply to business operators at all stages of the food chain, where their activities concern the provision of food information to consumers. The text consists of the following articles: Sphere of application (1); General requirements for marking of food (2); Special marking requirement for pre-packed food (3); Special marking requirements for non-pre-packed food (4); Extended nutritional labeling (4a); Origin labeling for unpackaged fresh, chilled, and frozen pork, sheep, goat, and poultry meat (4b); Ban on placing on the marketing and marketing (5); Offences and administrative offences (6); and Transitional provision (7).
