Hamburg Tree Protection Ordinance (BaumschutzVO).

Article 1 of the Ordinance provides requirements for protected landscapes while excluding fruit trees and trees intended for sale. Article 3 of the text describes purposes for protection of the landscapes and trees including preserve, develop, or restore the performance and functionality of the natural environment, and protection of habitats for wild living animal and plant species. The Ordinance prohibits removing the protected trees or hedges, or parts thereof, especially by cutting down, destroying, pruning, damaging, or otherwise impairing their growth, continued existence, or function. The text further provides for replacement of plants, payment for damages, legal liability, and administrative offences. The text consists of 14 Articles and one attachment.
