Abstract
The purpose of the present Law is to enforce the Federal Nature Protection Act (BGBl. I p. 2542) of 29 July 2009, and to transpose into the Land Hessen the Council Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment of 27 June 1985, the Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the conservation of wild birds of 30 November 2009 and the Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora of 21 May 1992 into German law. The text consists of 35 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: Provisions on organization and general proceedings (I); Conservation of nature protection data and management plans (II); Landscape planning under chapter 2 of the Federal Nature Protection Act (III); Intervention regulations under chapter 3 of the Federal Nature Protection Act (IV); Protection of certain parts of nature and landscape under chapter 4 of the Federal Nature Protection Act (V).
