Abstract
The present Law lays down provisions relating to hunting issues in the Land Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Article 1 establishes that game is an important part of the local environment and as such it has to be conserved as an essential part of the natural general environment. Moreover, the protection of the huntable game in its living space should be the concern of the whole society. The purpose of the present Law is to: 1) conserve the great variety of wild animals in respect of its natural living basis; 2) protect endangered species; 3) ensure, improve and re-instate, as the case may be, the natural living basis of wild animals; 4) limit damages in the forests and on agricultural cultivations caused by wild huntable animals; 5) harmonize matters pertaining to hunting, in particular with those of nature protection, animal protection, care of landscape, and those concerning recreation and tourism. The text consists of 44 articles divided into 10 Parts as follows: Principles (I); Hunting districts and rights to practise hunting (II); Devolution of hunting rights to third parties (III); Hunting licence and fees (IV); Limitation of hunting and protection of hunting (V); Damage cause by game and hunting (VI); Special rights and duties in exercising hunting (VII); Hunting administration (VIII); Penalties (IX); Final provisions (X).
