Abstract
The present Law implements the Hessen Nature Protection Law in its version of 16 April 1996. The Law establishes the National Park ”Kellerwald-Edersee”. Article 2 lays down provisions relating to surface description and demarcation of the National Park. In particular, the purpose of the National Park is to: 1) conserve the natural and semi-natural ecosystems with their typical plants and animal habitats, as well as the minerals and the soil; 2) conserve the natural symbiosis of plants and animals; 3) conserve and restore the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the landscape; 4) study the ecosystems and habitats; 5) make the area accessible to the population for recreational purposes. Articles 10 and 11 establish respectively a National Park Office and a National Park Advisory Board responsible the former for the planning and management and the latter for consultancy and support of the Park.
