Organic Out-of-Home Catering Regulation (Bio-AHVV).

The law encompasses the entire field of so-called out-of-home catering, and give the opportunity to enterprises to indicate the proportion of organic food offerings through labels. With the introduction of the organic label, the federal government plans to increase the proportion of organically produced food in canteens, cafeterias, and restaurants. The food providers should in addition to labelling ingredients and products; indicate the organic content of ingredients and products. The Ordinance further elaborate on the certificate requirements. Article 4 of the Ordinance provide the requirements under which a product can be labeled as organic. Article 8 provides three categories for an organic proportion while the AHV symbol must comply with the specifications and technical description of Annex 1. The Ordinance contains 18 Articles and 3 Annexes and is designed in 5 Chapters as follow: General provision (1); Products, labeling and indication (2); Entrepreneurial obligations (3); Controlling (4); and Administrative offences.
