Protocol on the implementation of the 1991 Alpine Convention in the field of transport.

This Protocol defines the basic principles and rules to be taken into account by the Contracting Parties at the time of defining their respective transport policies. The aim is to reduce the negative effects and risks posed by intra-Alpine and transalpine transport and to reduce the impact on ecosystems, natural resources and the environment as a whole. Enhanced safety measures must be taken by the Parties with respect to the transport of hazardous substances and materials.
