Regulation amending the regulation for the determination of further decisions on greenhouse gas reduction for motor fuels

The regulation amending the regulation on greenhouse gas reduction for motor fuels (Verordnung zur Änderung der Verordnung zur Festlegung weiterer Bestimmungen zur Treibhausgasminderung bei Kraftstoffen) of May 21st 2019, is drafted for sake of compatibility with European Union law. This Regulation transposes Directive 98/70 / EC of European Parliament and Council of 13 October 1998 on the quality of petrol and diesel fuels, which was modified by Council Directive 93/12/ EEC (OJ L 350, 28.12.1998, p. 58) and most recently by Directive 2015/1513 (OJ L 239, 15.9.2015, P. 1). It also transposes Directive 2009/28 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 on promoting the use of energy from renewable sources and to amend and then repeal the guidelines 2001/77/ EC and 2003/30/EC (OJ L 140, 5.6.2009, p. 16) most recently amended by Directive 2015/1513 (OJ L 239, 15.9.2015, p. 1). In terms of substance, Article 1 lays specifies amendments in writing on the original German Federal Regulation. The timeframe of commitments are thereby set between 2019 until 2012. Additionally, an Annex (Annex 4) on raw materials for the production of biofuels pursuant to § 1 (2) has been inserted. In accordance with Article 2, the regulation enters into force on the 22nd May 2019.
