Abstract
The present Ordinance provides for the monitoring in Germany of the TSE disease. The Länder must carry out a yearly inspection as prescribed by EU Regulations. In case of suspected diseases competent authorities must examine animals and if necessary destroy them. The text consists of 5 articles as follows: Monitoring programme (1); Carrying out BSE screening tests (1a); Further measures of competent authorities (3); Implementation of number 3 of Annex 3 of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 270/2002 amending Regulation (EC) No. 999/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards specified risk material and epidemio-surveillance for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies and amending Regulation (EC) No. 1326/2001 as regards animal feeding and the placing on the market of ovine and caprine animals and products thereof (4). One Annex is enclosed.
