Abstract
The present Act lays down provisions relating to the surveillance and control of transboundary movement of waste. In principle, waste disposal shall be carried out in Germany; however, if this is not possible, a country of the European Community shall be preferred to other third countries. Article 4 establishes that the relevant authorities of the Länder are responsible for the waste disposal. The text – consists of 15 articles – deals with the following matters: principle of waste disposal competence, provisions on proceedings, participation of others authorities, duty to re-import, bail, data collection and data processing, marking of motor vehicles transporting waste, implementation of international agreements, implementation of the EU-Waste Disposal Directive, Federal Environment Office, and penalties. The text consists of 15 articles and 3 Annexes.
