Abstract
This Act aims to support energy policy objectives for security, climate protection and cost effectiveness. It encourages the development of commercial potential within the energy sector. In order to set guidance within these objectivces, the European Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EDDP) is created in order to develop and approve the introduction of new energy technologies. The EUDP is managed by an independent board consisting of a chairman and six members. They are appointed by the Ministry for Tansport and Energy and have the role of decision-making, prioritization and planning. The institution may grant subsidies towards projects approved for energy production and its members are replaced every 4 years.

Entry into force notes
The Minister for Transport and Energy shall determine date of entry into force of the Act.
Notes
This Act is not applicable to Greenland nor the Faroe Islands.The Minister for Transport and Energy may repeal Act No. 1024 of 23 December 1998 with regard to government grants for research and technological development in the energy sector.
