Abstract
This Act regulates the "grandestævne", a local assembly in Faroese settlements that sets binding rules on the shared use of land and community resources. It outlines which matters can be decided at the assembly, who has voting rights, how meetings must be convened and conducted, and how decisions become legally binding. The law also establishes procedures for adopting village regulations, resolving disagreements through arbitration, and appealing unlawful or disputed decisions. Additionally, it sets out enforcement mechanisms, including the appointment of local supervisors to ensure compliance and the imposition of fines for breaches.
