Abstract
This Act establishes the framework for Greenland’s government (landsstyre) to negotiate and conclude international agreements on behalf of the Kingdom of Denmark in areas that have been fully transferred to Greenlandic authority. It allows for joint agreements with the Faroese government, sets limits excluding matters of defense, security policy, and agreements binding Denmark as a whole, and requires close cooperation and information-sharing with the Danish government to safeguard overall national interests. The law also permits Greenland to have representatives in Danish foreign missions and, where international organizations allow, to apply for membership in its own name with Danish government support, provided this aligns with Greenland’s constitutional status.
