Act No. 606 on open government.

The purpose of this Act is to ensure openness in the public administration with a view to supporting in particular: 1) freedom of information and expression; 2) citizen’s participation in democracy; 3) public control over the public administration; 4) the dissemination of information to the public by the media; and 5) confidence in the public administration. The Act applies to all activities carried out by authorities within the public administration. The Act contains 44 sections divided into the following Chapters: 1. Purpose and scope of the Act; 2. Access to documents, etc.; 3. Record keeping, mailing list and active information; 4. Exceptions to the right of access to documents; 5. The processing and decision of request for access to documents, etc.; 6. Entry into force and transitional provisions, etc.
