Abstract
This Act aims to establish a framework for the establishment and operation of a national test centre for large wind turbines, in an area near Østerild and Hjardemål dune plantations in Thisted Municipality. The center will provide opportunities to test prototypes of new onshore and offshore wind turbines, with the measurement of a maximum height of 250 meters. The Ministry of Environment appoints and delegates the Danish Technology University to carry out these activities for the purpose of renewable-energy supply.
The Act consists of 9 Chapters: Purpose (1); Establishment of test centre parameters (2); Guidelines of test centre area (3); Acquisition, expropriation, lease, loss of value of the occupied area (4); Restrictions on building in relation to this protected area (5); Relationship to other laws (6); Delegation (7); Removal and suspension of test centre (8); Entry into force (9).
The Act also includes an Annex 1 with a geographic map of the area.

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on 1 October 2010.
Notes
With the implementation of this Law all pending cases on the preservation of test sites shall cease according to Chapter 6 of the Nature Conservation Act.
