Abstract
This Executive Order, of the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, sets out rules for the use of food additives, colouring agents, and extraction solvents in Greenland. It defines key terms such as food additives, flavourings, processing aids, and extraction solvents, and aligns Greenlandic food law with EU Regulation (EC) No. 1333/2008 on food additives and Commission Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012 on purity criteria. Only approved additives may be used for specific purposes under good manufacturing practice and within established limits. The regulation lists permitted extraction solvents and their maximum residue levels, requires documentation for additives used under the quantum satis principle, and sets penalties for violations.
