Abstract
This Executive Order concerns the delegation of certain powers to the Danish Maritime Authority (Søfartsstyrelsen) and the rules for appeal procedures in Greenland, clarifying how Danish maritime legislation is administered in the Greenlandic context. It specifies that the Authority assumes responsibilities previously held by the Minister for Industry under several maritime laws as they are set in force for Greenland by royal decrees, including those on ship crews, maritime safety, ship measurement, diving work, and the Maritime Act. Some powers, such as those related to maritime accident investigations and the establishment of appeal boards, remain with the Minister. The regulation details how the Maritime Authority may record and share information and defines which of its decisions can be appealed to the Maritime Appeals Board (Ankenævnet for Søfartsforhold), including matters such as crew certification, ship detention, and pilot licensing.
