Abstract
This Executive Order, of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries of Denmark, sets rules for Greenland regarding contaminants in food. It applies to foodstuffs except those produced only for the Greenlandic domestic market or non-animal foods. The regulation establishes maximum limits for contaminants such as lead, cadmium, mercury, tin, dioxins, PCBs, PFAS, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, 3-MCPD, and glycidyl esters, mainly in animal products, fish, shellfish, and food supplements. It specifies how limits apply to dried, diluted, processed, or composite foods, prohibits mixing contaminated with compliant foods, and requires that treated products still meet safety levels. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration oversees compliance through annual sampling plans, and violations may result in fines for both individuals and companies.
