Abstract
The Order sets regulations with regard to the mandatory storage of crude oil, oil products, biofuel, additives etc. in use by international marine transportation. The Association of Danish Oil Contingency Stocks (FDO) is designated as the central storage unit for oil storage from 31 May 2012, in accordance to article 5 (section 1) of the Oil Preparedness Act. Companies trading in oil shall utilize the FDO for all storage of crude oil. International storage agreements may occur between Danish and foreign commercial businesses, provided both parties shall comply with Danish regulations in this sector. A part of reserves held by the central storage unit must store specific stocks, and the latter should consist of products classified as category 1, 2B and 3, and which shall be utilized for domestic consumption. Information of storage activities shall be registered and kept confidential. Commercial entities producing crude oil and petroleum products (including LPG) with a storage obligation to 0, shall adhere to provisions which allocates a stock at a specified warehouse, and that is shared with other petroleum producing companies. Stocks of crude oil may be kept in a specified storage location for a period not exceeding 12 months.
