Abstract
This Order sets regulations on oil discharge from ships. No discharge into the sea shall contain chemicals or other substances in quantities or concentrations which are hazardous to the marine environment. Oil residues which cannot be discharged into the sea in accordance with this Order shall be retained on board or discharged to reception facilities. Ballast water must comply with the requirements of the Order on handling of ballast water and sediments from ships' ballast water tanks. The discharge of ballast water, which is covered by this Order, shall also meet the conditions specified in this Order.
