Abstract
The present Government Order, issued by the Ministry of Environment, applies to trade in wild flora and fauna covered by the Council Regulation (EEC) No. 338/97 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein. It is also relevant for implementing the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The Order contains 11 articles regulating the import and export of live animals and live plants and parts of plants; import and export of non-live animals and live plants and parts of plants; reporting requirements; inspection and control of CITES documents; and offences and penalties.
