Abstract
This Order, issued by the Danish Government, brings the Danish Act on Veterinary Practice into force in Greenland from 25 June 2004. The Order regulates who may practice veterinary medicine, the rights and duties of veterinarians, and the establishment and role of the Veterinary Health Council. It sets rules for authorization of veterinarians, their professional obligations, use and control of prescription medicines, specialist titles, record-keeping, supervision, and potential loss or restriction of rights. It also covers veterinary laboratories, public oversight, sanctions, and transitional provisions, while repealing the earlier Greenlandic order on veterinary matters from 1991. The law extends Danish veterinary law to Greenland, ensuring that veterinary practice there is governed by the same framework as in Denmark.
