Abstract
This Act sets forth provisions on the restrictions on manufacture, import, sale or transfer of antibiotics; licensing of storage and import of antibiotics; licensing procedures; sampling; registration; lists of approved pharmaceutical firms; and offences and penalties. The Antibiotics Regulation is annexed to this Act as subsidiary legislation. The Regulation sets forth the requirements for the standard of strength, purity and quality of antibiotics, as well as the obligations of the pharmaceutical firms. The Regulation underlines that no person other than a medical practitioner, a dentist or a veterinary surgeon shall store any antibiotic unless he holds a valid licence issued by the licensing officer to store antibiotics.
