Abstract
This Act concerns national parks and other protected areas in Dominica. All lands set apart as protected area and all lands in national parks shall constitute the national parks system and shall be vested in the Crown (sect. 3). The responsible Minister shall have the administration, management and control of the national parks system. Lands described in the Schedule shall constitute the national parks system. Lands of which the lease to the Crown expires shall cease to be part of a park and shall be deleted from the Schedule (sect. 4). The Minister may set apart Crown lands as protected areas for purposes of preserving natural beauty, conservation of fauna and flora, and for historical, cultural or recreational purposes (sect. 5). A National Parks Advisory Council is established under section 8. The Director of National Parks, appointed under section 7 may prepare a plan of management for any area within the national parks system (sect. 11). Works of the Central Water Authority in the national parks system shall not be interfered with (sects. 14 and 15). Section 17 outlines powers of park wardens. (18 sections completed by a Schedule)
