Abstract
The aim of this Order is to prevent the spreading of asian citrus psyllid, citrus greening disease, citrus tristeza virus and citrus canker, which are declared notifiable plant pests in Dominica. The Order specifies in the Schedule restricted articles. An authorised officer may subject any other article, product or means of conveyance to a Restriction Order. A person shall not remove or dispatch a restricted article from or move a restricted article into, any area of Dominica without written permission from the Plant Protection Service. Presence of the disease shall be notified to the regional agricultural office and no person shall move a restricted article from an affected area without a certificate of inspection and permission of the plant protection officer. The Order also: prohibits the distribution of a citrus murraya plant or the sale of any restricted article without permission; prohibits the operation of a citrus nursery which is not certified; requires the owner or occupier of land within an affected area to take the measures to control or eradicate citrus pests; and authorises an authorised officer to enter any land or nursery within the quarantined area to remove, uproot, dispose of, prune or treat restricted articles.
