Abstract
This Act provides rules for the tourism industry in Dominica. Its purpose is the creation of a legislative basis for the creation of sustainable, internationally accepted and holistically approached programme, to be known as the Nature Island Standards of Excellence (NISE), to be applied by persons in the public and private tourism sectors and to regulate and certify certain tourism services. The Minister may cause the General Manager to develop and implement the programme in such manner and within such time as the Minister determines. No person shall offer any tourism service specified in the First Schedule unless a licence has been issued by the Minister. Tourism services that are regulated include supply of food and beverage. The Act establishes a licensing committee and a Quality Assurance Unit.
