Abstract
The European Maritime and Fisheries Fund – Operational Programme for Estonia 2014-2020 is a cross-sectoral programme of Estonia. The measures implemented aim to create a competitive, sustainable, a resource-efficient and innovative economic environment. The program aims to ensure fish stocks sustainability and diversity where the focus is on natural fish stocks promoting reproduction and promoting the good natural state of water systems; to promote the coordination of water use and environmental protection objectives; and the Fisheries Information Center will be continued, inter alia, to develop a constructive dialogue which is a very good practice from the previous programming period 2007-2013. Activities will focus on the implementation of 4 objectives: resource efficiency, innovation, competitiveness and efficient management. Grants are targeted primarily at to promote energy efficiency and innovation in primary processing and blue in the field of bioeconomy. The supported activities contribute to the Europe 2020 goals promoting smart, sustainable growth. Monitoring and evaluation will take place on a continuous basis throughout the period in order to ensure relevant data existence. Through monitoring and evaluation, the transparency and dialogue of the program is ensured between stakeholders, while at the same time providing an opportunity to respond to change where necessary; and make adjustments to the operational program accordingly.
