Abstract
This Act provides the plant health requirements and the bases for ensuring the safety of plant protection products for human and animal health and the environment, and regulates the organization of plant health protection. For the purpose of the present Act, a plant product is unprocessed or primarily processed material of plant origin which is non-viable but may spread pests. The document consists of 6 Chapters that contain 110 Paragraphs. Chapter 1 lays down the general provisions. Chapter 2 deals with plant health. Chapter 3 regards plant protection products and equipment. Chapter 4 concerns supervision. Chapter 5 establishes liability. Chapter 6 lays down implementing provisions.

Entry into force from 17 April 2000.
Notes
Paragraphs 28-37 of the present Act enter into force on 1 January 2001 and subsection 90 (2) enters into force on 1 January 2002.
