Abstract
This Regulation, made on the basis of the provisions of Section 55 (3) of the Veterinary Act, prescribes precise measures for the prevention and control of rabies. The Regulation concerns: notification to veterinarians of suspicion of rabies, in case of attack by a wild animal behaving abnormally, or by an animal kept by the animal keeper; dog and cat vaccination, and specific measures for hunting dogs; detailed measures in case of suspicion and diagnosis of rabies in a wild animal, including: destruction of carcasses of wild animals dead for unknown reasons, killing of wild animals suspected having rabies based on clinical signs, compliance with European Legislation; bringing a wild mammal into artificial conditions and related measures to prevent the spread of animal diseases; quarantine measures and monitoring of animal health; detailed measures for dogs and cats suspected of rabies; specific measures in case an animal suspected of rabies has bitten a dog or cat, and differences in case the dog or the cat is vaccinated or not; execution of rabies suspect and animals with rabies, and taking research material.
