Abstract
This Regulation, based on the provisions of paragraph 59 (3) of the Veterinary Act, provides for establishing precise measures for the prevention and control of African swine fever. The Regulation concerns: biosecurity measures for African swine fever in premises where pigs are kept: excluding contact with other animals, ensuring separation between the fenced territory of the livestock building and the vehicles used to transport animal by-products, excluding contacts with wild boar carcasses and their parts, preventing the introduction of any possible infection-carrying material to the premises, specific requirements concerning feed for pigs, preventing the pigs from eating food waste from catering establishment and private households. Further matters covered by the Regulation include: detailed measures for slaughtering pigs for human consumption; hunting rights and measures for prevention and control of the wild boar population in restricted specified zones; measures regulating hunting in restricted specified zones, in compliance with European Legislation.
