Abstract
This Regulation, established on the basis of Section 66 (4) of the Veterinary Act, defines the requirements for an expert opinion and the procedure for calculating the value of a slaughtered animal, or an animal killed or dead due to an animal disease, including a breeding animal. The Regulation prescribes that the expert opinion includes: a market analysis, with a comparison of the demand-supply ratio; an analysis and assessment of the animal's achieved production indicators, the animal's breed characteristics and the number of offspring; a description of the methodology used in calculating the value of the breeding animal; a proposal on the size of the value of the animal, pointing out the circumstances that may change the value of the animal; references to theoretical materials and data sources used in the assessment. The Regulation concerns: the procedure for calculating the accounting value of the animal, on the basis of the meat weight, multiplied by the average purchase price of the meat, for the following animals: cattle, pig, bird, sheep; and special procedure for calculating the value of a breeding animal.
