Abstract
The Chapter consists of 5 articles (Nos. 108 and 109, 117-119) which are divided into 2 sub-chapters: Animal export and import (I); Protection of birds useful to agriculture, of wild animals and prevention of animal cruelty (II). Sub-chapter II on animal fodder (arts. 110-116) has been omitted from the text. The Minister may regulate, by Decree, the import and export of live animals, poultry and birds and may also ban import and export of animals if required for purposes of "development or protection of animal health". It is forbidden to hunt, offer for sale, sell or possess birds or wild animals designated by the Minister of Agriculture (art. 117). The Decree may also prescribe the zones where the above-mentioned prohibition applies and exceptional conditions under which hunting licences may be granted. Article 118 prohibits the growing of plants harmful to birds. Article 119 prohibits cruel treatment of animals.
