Ministerial Decree No. 808 of 2005 on the establishment of the Plant Variety Protection office.

This Decree is composed of 7 articles Article 1 puts forward the establishment of an office known as the “Plant Variety Protection Office” replacing the breeders’ Right and Plant Variety Protection Department within the Central Administration for Seed Certification at the Agricultural Services and Follow Up Sector at the Ministry of Agriculture pursuant to the Prime Ministerial Decree no.(492) of 2003. The Office shall be responsible for fulfilling its duties according to Law No. 82 of 2002 and its executive regulations. Article 3 provides for the Permanent Advisory Council for Plant Variety Breeders’ Rights. The Advisory Council shall meet once every two months and may get the help of experts when needed.
