Abstract
This Resolution consisting of 6 articles aims at establishing the Wadi Al-Assiouti Reserve within the boundaries indicated in the area of Asyut Governorate in the Eastern desert. It will be managed by an Executive Council headed by the Asyut Governorate, with the membership of representatives from the ministries of agriculture, defense, tourism, interior, housing, the University of Asyut, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and the Environmental Affairs Agency in the Council of Ministers. Article 3 prohibits to carry out actions, behaviors, activities or procedures that would destroy, damage or deteriorate the natural environment, harm wildlife, marine or plant life, or affect their aesthetic level in the aforementioned protected areas (these actions are indicated in detail). The Executive Council undertakes the functions that aim to develop and advance the reserve, and in particular, to (i) prepare the necessary programs and studies to promote and develop the reserve; (ii) monitor environmental phenomena and make an inventory of terrestrial and marine organisms and establish a dedicated register for each of them; (iii) manage and coordinate the related activities ; (iv) inform and educate the public of the objectives and purposes of establishing nature reserves (art.5).
