Abstract
These Regulations impose a duty on importers of declared goods to obtain an import permit from the Ministry of Trade and Industry and prescribes certain rules regarding the trade in such goods. “Declared goods” include commodities such as cereals, flour, pasta, rice, edible oil, sugar, coffee, tea and vegetables and milk powder. The Ministry shall issue permits taking into account national priorities regarding importation and competitive value of the goods. Such national priorities shall be established from time to time by the Ministry. An import permit shall be valid only for a given time. The Ministry shall impose price control on declared goods. It shall also issue orders and directives regarding distribution of such articles on the Eritrean market. Inspectors appointed by the Minister shall ascertain that provisions of Proclamation No. 125/2002 are complied with. (7 articles)
