Abstract
In-transit movement refers to the in-bond movement of foreign goods through Eritrean territory from a point outside Eritrea to another foreign point. The Regulations provide for goods that are entering in-transit through Eritrea to be reported in accordance with the Customs Proclamation, No. 112 of 2000. Time limits are specified for in-transit goods and goods may be forfeited if they are not removed from the customs office after some prescribed period. During the transportation of in-transit goods through Eritrea, the transporter is required to give security at the point of entry into Eritrea to secure compliance with the requirements of the Proclamation and the regulations regarding the transportation of goods.
