Amhara National Regional State Amhara Seed Enterprise Establishment, Council of the Regional Government Regulation (No. 66/2009).

This Proclamation establishes the Amhara Seed Enterprise as an autonomous part of government enterprise and defines is functions and powers. The Enterprise shall, among other things: produce and supply breeder seed (cereal seed which is new, obtained through research and multiplied by following-up of agricultural research), certified and other seed; provide farmers with cereal and forage seeds which are necessary and favorable to various climate-zones and import such seeds; promote seed technology. The Enterprise shall also establish, at a charge base, various services including seed quality testing in laboratories. The Enterprise shall be managed by a Board and a Chief Manager.
