Ethiopian Development Research Institute Establishment Council of Ministers Regulations (No. 54/1999).

This Regulation establishes the Ethiopian Development Research Institute as an autonomous institution, defines its functions and powers and provides with respect to its administration. The objective of the Institute shall be to undertake studies and research on the development of the country. The Institute shall have the powers and duties to: a) undertake studies and research with a view to assisting the formulation of development policies; b) carry out impact analysis of development policies implemented by the Government; c) collect data it requires in the course of its studies and research and to use those compiled by other bodies; d) publish and distribute results of its research; e) render consultancy services in development areas; f) establish relations with domestic and foreign institutions that may contribute towards the achievements of its objectives.
