Ethiopian Food Systems Transformation and Nutrition Roadmap (2026–2030) is a national strategic roadmap to translate Ethiopia’s food systems transformation commitments into coordinated action up to 2030. The Roadmap recognises Ethiopia’s progress in agricultural production, food security and nutrition, including increased cereal, pulse, oilseed, livestock, milk, egg, meat and honey production, and reductions in undernourishment and child stunting. It also identifies continuing structural constraints across the food system, including slowing productivity growth, limited diversification into nutrient-dense foods, weak food safety management structures, insufficient fortification, processing and packaging capacity, low dietary diversity, rising unhealthy urban diets, soil depletion, land degradation, limited access to inputs, technologies, irrigation and finance, weak land administration, inadequate market linkages, limited value addition, high post-harvest losses, climate vulnerability, fragmented risk management and insufficient universal food access in vulnerable areas. The operational framework is organised around twenty-four game-changing solutions grouped into seven thematic clusters: ensuring availability and accessibility of safe and nutrient-dense foods; promoting sustainable and equitable consumption of healthy diets throughout the life cycle; strengthening integrated policy, land, natural-resource and financial systems for agricultural transformation; accelerating mechanisation, digital technology and innovation; improving access to markets, market information, infrastructure and specialisation; managing risks and protecting vulnerable populations; and supporting sustainable urbanisation, skills development and rural electrification. The Roadmap identifies 184 interventions and 690 activities, supported by governance arrangements involving federal and regional institutions, private sector actors, development partners and civil society. It further establishes monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning arrangements, including a national food systems dashboard and an indicator framework, to support evidence-based implementation, adaptive management and accountability
