Abstract
This Regulation establishes the Ethiopian Standards Agency as an autonomous federal government office and defines its functions and powers. The Agency shall, among other things, develop Ethiopian standards and establish a system that enables checking whether goods and services are in compliance with the required standards. The Regulation also concerns use of the national standard mark. The use of the national standard mark with respect to any product shall require the holding of a permit issued by the Agency upon ascertaining the conformity of the product to the relevant Ethiopian standard by an authorized conformity assessment body.
