Abstract
This Proclamation establishes the Ethiopian Wildlife Development and Conservation Authority as an autonomous public agency of the federal government. The Authority shall, among other things: (a) prepare and submit to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism draft policies and laws relating to the development, conservation and utilization of wildlife resources and follow up the their implementation; (b) develop and administer wildlife conservation areas; (c) issue hunting permits to foreign tourists; (d) issue permits and health certificates to export and import any wildlife or wildlife products; (e) ensure that wildlife conservation areas are established in accordance with international standards with a view to facilitating their registration by the World Conservation Union.
